Go ahead and make fun, but Ken and I got tickets to see NKOTBSB (New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys) in June of 2011. I tried to buy them on Friday at 10am for the presale and the choices were horrible. I am so glad that I waited because I ended up getting 10th row, section C on Saturday right at 10am when they went on sale for the general public. Pretty good seats I think! I was a huge fan of NKOTB when I was in high school. I remember stopping at Kmart on the way to work when I was 16 to get their “Hanging Tough” cassette tape. We’ve both always liked Backstreet Boys and seen them in concert in 2000 during their Millennium tour. I had a crush on Kevin who was the worst singer, but best looking in my opinion. Too bad he isn’t part of the group anymore, bummer! Also, Andrew really liked their music as well and this was his first concert when he was only 5 years old! We asked him if he wanted to go with us, but he just laughed. I don’t think there is any reason to be embarrassed, most of the people there will be our age anyways! Gotta get ready to peg the bottom of my jeans and tease my bangs up as high as possible!

So that’s the case? Quite a revelation that is.
Thank you so much for leaving this comment, and for being a person who cares enough to challenge the department directly about this. When Deborah Nelson (my advisor, a great professor and a wonderful human being) was appointed Deputy Provost for Graduate Education last year, one of her stated goals was to desigtmatize the decision some students make to leave the program and go on to other careers. I hope she reads this post
LOVE IT! I wanted to go too, but my illness is so unpredictable that I am not sure I can neurologically handle the concert, but man do I want to try! In fact my future step-daughter was game to go. You have awesome seats!!!
I think that’s awesome! You guys are going to have a blast!
