I’ve had better weekends

Isn’t the last week of school supposed to be a laid back week? Instead it seems like it is insanely crazy around here! I was at my parents house a couple of evenings last week and during the day on Saturday and Sunday for a garage sale. I moan and groan the whole time, especially when certain people annoy me. This one guy asked me to give him a deal for our old microwave we were selling. I had $40 on an above the range white GE microwave that had nothing wrong with it. It was Saturday so I told him that I wasn’t going to come down on the price until tomorrow. He was like, “Make me deal right now, I give you money”. Yep, one of those. I told him no and he pushed some more. He then asked, “how about 25 or 30 dollar?” I said, “No, the lowest I would go was 35. He replied, “I’ll take it!” Then he backs up his Mercedes Benz. I was such a fool! Why did I fall for that? The microwave was more than worth $40, but I wanted to be sure I wasn’t going to have to drag it back home so I priced it low. I never never learn. Regardless, I made $370! Not bad for not having any big ticket items. The most expensive thing I sold was the stupid $35 microwave!

I am finding that my little Canon isn’t taking as good as videos as I would like. Whenever I zoom it gets real blurry. I haven’t ordered a Flip camera yet. I was still reading reviews to see if it is worth the money.

Felt like a Monday

Today ended up being a crazy day! Andrew didn’t get home last night until kinda late so I originally had let him sleep him with the intention to take him to school when Blake and Chase go to school. Instead he begged and pleaded to stay home all day saying that he was extremely tired and feeling sick. Ya, sick of school maybe. He did end up staying home and we got wrapped up into all these discussions about sports, particularly his insane schedule this summer due to his travel baseball team, conditioning starting for football as soon as school ends, and today we added summer basketball to the mix. I’m not going to get into the details of all this craziness, but basically we found out today about a basketball meeting that was tonight at 7:30. I don’t know how he doesn’t find out about these things. Either he doesn’t listen to school announcements or I am just clueless at the dozens of websites that apparently I am suppose to be checking periodically to keep up to date on all this information. I will challenge anyone to tell me that balancing activities for 3 active boys isn’t difficult. I go day to day always feeling like I am forgetting something. I find that more and more I am hanging out and talking with moms that are my younger sons friends moms, so I am out of the loop with a lot of the junior high/high school stuff. At any rate, we now have the information and Andrew is now adding another activity to his busy summer schedule.

I also had to watch my niece for a little bit this afternoon because my dad had to work. I love when she is in town, but unfortunately the two weeks she is in town for June my kids are still in school. I plan on letting Karli play hooky one day next week since it is the last week of school anyways…so they can have a fun day together without the boys around. I am sure Karli will go to school the next day and tell her teacher why she skipped. She did that when I let her skip so she could go to the movies with Ken and Andrew and I. Really it was because the movie started at 12:30 and I didn’t have anyone to take her to school. LOL! She went to school the following Monday and here I wrote a note that said Karli didn’t feel good and when her teacher asked her where she was she said …at the movies! NICE!

Today’s video is a combo of Monday and Tuesday. I have some hilarious video of Karli for tomorrow! If you have a YouTube account, be sure to subscribe to our channel. I know I said I would write about one of the personal reasons why I am posting videos, but I will get to that later this week I promise. No time tonight! I have to get Karli up early tomorrow morning with the boys because she has a field trip in the morning so she will be attending school all day. She was sort of confused and thought she was going to First Grade tomorrow! Crazy girl!

I should have recorded Chase this morning and forgot. Hey! I am new to this vlogging stuff. He woke up and checked under his pillow and found that the tooth fairy did NOT come. I reminded him that I said that the tooth fairy wouldn’t come if he didn’t believe, but actually it was because I TOTALLY FORGOT. BIG FAIL!!!

Memorial Weekend

The weekend started with lots of yard work on Saturday. Ken has been driving me nuts about pulling weeds and cleaning up some of the landscaping in our yard. I tried to remind him that it is suppose to be- I do all the work in the inside and he does the outside, but that only seems to matter when it benefits him. While we were working Don and Emma came over and the kids hung out rest of the day. Karli and Emma had to keep it cool though because Emma pulled a muscle and wasn’t able to do anything major.

Sunday we chilled the first part of the day. I did a little big of housework and caught up on a couple of shows that I DVR’d. We had some family and friends over for a cookout later in the afternoon. The kids had tons of fun. Unfortunately Andrew wasn’t here since he had a baseball tournament in Cincinnati all weekend. (We opted not to go since he was with his dad this weekend.) There were boys his age here as well, that’s why I said he would have had fun.

The past few days I was doing some exploring on YouTube on my super spectacular iPad and found some funny vlogs. I thought it would be fun to record some of the craziness that goes on around our house. Every day my kids provide ample enough entertainment. Now the key is getting some of it on video, which right now I am finding they clam up once they see me with the camera. Not only that I am recording with a little Canon camera, rather than my actual camcorder just because it is smaller and it is a bit easier to transfer the video. I’ve decided that my next electronics purchase will be a Flip camera. They are not that expensive and the video quality is awesome, especially the HD one. Let’s see how much money I make at the garage sale this upcoming weekend…maybe I will have one sooner than I think. (I’m thinking my birthday in September right now.) When I told my mom what I wanted to buy she rolled her eyes at me wanting another type of electronic equipment. I can’t help it, some girls are addicted to shoes or jewelry…me I am an technology geek.

Here is my first official OUR FAMILY NEST VLOG…woo hoo!
It’s kinda lame, and I have a lot to work on, including learning to record myself as I am holding the camera. Which also brings me to another reason I want to record videos. Let talk about that in tomorrows blog. Time to watch The Bachelorette and try to get to bed at a decent time tonight. Ken let me sleep until a time that I am even too embarrassed to admit. It was super late!

Hope you all had a nice holiday weekend. Two more weeks of school left to go for us. How about you?

Bucking Bronco

A video today, instead of a photo!

I thought this was cute enough to share. We went with my parents, my niece and her dad, to this place filled with a bunch of those blow up jump things in it. They have a name, but I forget what they are called. (Germ houses if you ask me!) They also had this bull that of course Chase had to ride. It was pretty funny. This bull whipping our little 35 pound 6 year old around.
