Future fireman

We went to a surprise birthday party that was held at a fire station for a friend Saturday night. Ken first put the equipment on Chase and he fell right over. Here Blake is wearing the outfit quite well, LOL! Possibly a future fireman in the family?

Concentration

Chase likes school for the most part. He tries real hard and takes pride in his work. He is a lot like Andrew that way. Where as Blake is a get it done, don’t care about the quality type of kid. Kind of like his dad…lol.

Sick of my bed

Tori has sure benefited from me being sick. She has had the luxury of laying in bed with me for almost 3 whole days.
My throat still hurts today, but I am out of bed doing some cleaning. Can’t let the house go too long without being cleaned. Ken kept things picked up, but its not the same.
We are heading to a friends surprise birthday party tonight. Life goes on, no more time to be sick. I think the antibiotic helped and hopefully I won’t be contagious!

Bug

Now I am thrilled to announce I have the flu bug. This pic was taken last night and was only the beginning of about 8 baths that I have taken in less than 24 hours. I haven’t felt this sick in years. My body aches so bad I almost wish my limbs would disappear. Its not even 4pm yet and I just took NyQuil. Even my thumbs hurt typing this. Maybe this should be called the moan and groan blog?

Raising Money

We raised an amazing amount of money on Saturday during our casino bus trip fundraiser. We had a full bus, 55 people, and made a huge amount of money off of raffle tickets and selling beer and jello shots. We gave away tons of gift certificates to restaurants, a golf package, an oil change, a car detailing, even a Blackberry Bold cell phone! Ken did an incredible job contacting local business to get donations for raffle items. We have made enough money to cover Andrew’s baseball expenses for the season. This doesn’t include our families expenses in traveling to Myrtle Beach of course. We covered the cost of his uniforms and his entry fee into the tournament. I will say that planning the entire bus trip was a huge pain in the rear and one that I do not care to experience again anytime soon. It is a pain getting people to commit and collect their darn money. I totally understand, I mean many people are struggling and cutting back financially right now. The best part was spending time one of my long time friends that I have known since junior high school and we had a great time. We also went to dinner with two other couples that we don’t hang out with much and that was a lot of fun too. Overall, it was worth it, but still, never again.

My poor baby Tori was spayed today and she is not looking good. She keeps shaking and every so often she whimpers and it breaks my heart. I know in the long run this is the best decision, but it is so sad to see her like this. Her tiny little 5 pound body can only take 1/4 of a pain pill at a time and it does seem to help her. It was cute though, my youngest son Chase, wants to be a veterinarian when he grows up. I showed him Tori’s stitches when he came home from school and said, “Look, this is what you will have to do when you are a vet someday”. He stared and then made this gross looking face and said, “Forget that, I will just be a zookeeper instead”.

Miss Priss

I don’t think I am doing my daughter any favors by making her so prissy. Today at her preschool they had the kids all wear a name tag that had the name of their street on it and everyone was suppose to call one another by their street name. When I dropped Karli off she gave me this look like she thought the teachers were nuts. When I came to pick her up it was the very first time that she didn’t run up to me with a huge smile and hug. At first I thought maybe she wasn’t feeling well. When I bent down to ask her what was wrong, she had the saddest look on her face and said, “Can I please take this stupid name tag off now?” WOW, what have I done to her?

On the way home I had to stop at the carry out to grab some buns for burgers for dinner. When I asked her if she wanted anything she told me to get M & M’s for after lunch. A couple of seconds later she yells, “Make sure you get the purple bag, not the yellow or brown. Purple is for princesses!” She doesn’t even realize that the purple bag is dark chocolate. She cracks me up.

Man’s best friend

I usually have Shaggy come sleep in our room, but I am all for Andrew having to share his space instead of Ken and I.
That’s all you get of me tonight, I’m bushed, my brain is already asleep. Gnite.

Every time my niece is in town it seems like she has grown another inch. I guess that is was happens since we only get to see her once a month.
