Ken and I have struggled with being overweight for a long time. The last time I can remember us both being happy with our bodies was at Karli’s First Birthday Party and that was 9 years ago! We had lost weight together back then and through the years we’ve only been successful losing weight if we do it together.
Now that we are older it becomes more of a health issue than ever before. I mean sure we would both like to look better, but primarily it’s about being healthy now that we are getting older. We want to be around to see our great grandchildren and not have to rely on others to take care of us. And that’s only going to happen if we become healthier!
I’m going to mix in some older photos to show that we have been successful with losing weight in the past.
In every aspect of our life I feel like we have found success and happiness, and created a great life for each other and our family. Being overweight is the one area where we both need major work. I think the problem has always been that neither one of us see ourselves for what we are. I mean, I can only speak for myself, but I don’t feel fat. I don’t have back problems, feet problems, etc. Thank goodness for that, but it does make a difference when you are living day to day and aren’t forced to deal with being overweight. I recall going to a new Primary Care physician about a year ago and while I was super nervous…all I kept thinking about was how she was going to yell at me about my weight. And when she didn’t I was actually disappointed. I feel like I need someone to scream at me and say, “If you don’t get your weight under control you are going to die!” Which is silly I know, but it’s the truth.
Anyways, I feel like you could probably type the word weight in the search bar here on our website and come up with a whole bunch of background information about our weight loss history. Actually there is a Weight Loss Category over in the sidebar as well. Today I am all about moving forward and keeping the past in the past. The only thing that history tells me is Ken and I both know our potential and we know we can succeed if we truly want to.
Well let me get to the exciting part…we have started NUTRISYSTEM!!
It is something we have wanted to do for awhile now and I was literally dancing around the room when I got the email that Nutrisystem was going to be sending us both 3 months of the My Way Select Favorites Program as part of their #NSNation Blogger Program. However we don’t necessarily have to blog (write) about any of this. We are only obligated to vlog (make videos) on our YouTube Channel.
Which, hello…is obviously that is where my true passion is! The whole blogging thing gets monotonous when you don’t really have a big following reading and/or commenting. But our Youtube Channel on the other hand has really taken off and I am so excited to add another type of videos to our channel.
With that being said, (wow I didn’t mean to write this much, maybe I will be blogging more than I think!) here is our first video in our Nutrisystem Journey. At the filming of this video we had not eaten any of the food yet, this is just the UNBOXING of our first shipment from Nutrisystem so you can peek at what types of food is entailed and such.
If you have any questions about the program feel free to ask and if I don’t know the answer I will certainly find out for you. We have been appointed a Nutrisystem counselor so I can always ask her if there is something you would like to know.
And if you really want to go through this experience with me, follow me on Instagram or Like our Facebook page because I post things there daily about Nutrisystem.

Disclaimer: We are receiving 3 months of Nutrisystem in exchange for our honest opinion on the program. We are not getting paid by Nutrisystem. Everything shared on our blog and in our videos is our opinion and should not replace professional advice.
