Our Valentine's Day
This was the first year that
Andrew was able to write each of his classmates names on their
Valentine cards. Usually they have to leave them blank. Andrew filled
out all of his cards and then mom attached some candy hearts and a
chocolate.
This was cute...I had not planned
to go to Andrew's school party because at his Christmas party I really
wasn't able to help like the other moms because I was taking care of
Blake and Chase the whole time, but I went to watch anyhow. So for V-
Day I thought I wouldn't go (isn't that terrible?). Andrew didn't say
anything until the morning of Valentine's Day. He pretty much assumed
I was going. Which why wouldn't he...I have always gone to his
parties. So I told him that I would be there eventually...just not the
whole party. So I had my mom come to the house and watch Chase
and Blake for me so I could go without them. So I was there for half
of the party...the last hour. Andrew was so excited to see me there!!
How sweet. :)
Once Ken got home from work...we
gave the kids their gifts. Blake got a Scooby Doo kit with cars and a
race track and other odds n ends and a bag of mini M & M's. Andrew got
a Harry Potter video game for X Box and a bag of Crispy M & M's...and
guess what? He already has the video game! And I was the one who
bought the first one! Gosh am I getting old or what? So we took
it back and got him the new Spiro game instead. Chase...well....he got
lots of love!!
Ken got me a dozen yellow roses.
It's kinda strange...he started this habit way back of getting me
anything but red roses....he says they are too typical...not original.
Personally I think it's because that is what his dad does. Guess what
his mom got for V- Day...yellow roses!!
I got Ken a card and a bag of
Reese's Peanut Butter cups. I had gone to the electronics store to buy
him (us) TiVo and I could not believe how expensive it was. It is $300
for 80 hours of taping time...which is fine. But then you have to
spend an additional $22 a month or $250 lifetime fee to TiVo for the
monthly service. I thought forget it...I am not spending this kind of
money on Valentine's Day. We always go overboard with gifts for one
another. I was the one who said to not get each other anything...that
I am going to Chicago with him in March for a work convention...and
plan to do some major shopping! So here I was the one that decided it
but yet I was out at the store looking to buy something. In the end I
stuck with the simple stuff. Card and Candy.
That evening after we got the kids
to bed we watched Sweet Home Alabama...movie of my choice of course!
Ken was zonked out within the first half hour. So much for romance
huh!
