Goodbye elementary school

Blake graduated from Fifth Grade and next year he will be attending the Junior High. The biggest hurdle will be waking him up at 6:30(ish) rather than 7:45. I suppose it’s time for me to stop picking out his clothes and wetting his hair down in the morning. I am guilty of coddling by kids a bit longer than I should. I’m thinking worst case scenario he will need me to help him fix his hair for Senior Prom, which really, that would be pretty cool.

This is the first time in 11 years that the 6th graders will be attending the junior high instead of having one more year at the elementary school. At the graduation ceremony most of the kids seemed so small to be going to the junior high. It’s seems so scary, but exciting at the same time.

We are so proud of Blake! He did very well the past couple of years and I hope he continues working hard. We decided to get him an iPod Touch as a graduation/birthday gift. I loaded him up with all the good games and now we have another electronic device to take away from him when he gets in trouble! LOL!
