What’s grosser than gross?

I downloaded this book for my Kindle the other day called Serial by Jack Kilborn and Blake Crouch. It is the most disgusting book I have ever read. It is about hitchhikers and in one chapter the hitchhiker is crazy and the other chapter the driver that is picking up the hitchhiker is crazy. Then in the last Chapter (it’s really short, just a few chapters), the two characters meet. The first chapter was the best, or should I say most disgusting. I was sitting in the car waiting for Andrew’s baseball game to start and I started to feel sick, it was that bad. If you like descriptive gore, check it out on Amazon. I think there are some sites where you can download it and read it online too. It only takes about an hour to read.

The download includes the first chapters of new books that each of the authors have out. Afraid by Jack Kilborn sounds really good. In the first chapter it is late at night and this woman is alone and a stranger comes into her house and makes microwave popcorn. He then comes into her room, in complete darkness, and starts taunting her by throwing popcorn at her. What a wacko!

Book 5 of The House of Night series came out earlier this week. I had reserved the book at my library about a month ago and amazingly I was the first person to get this particular copy! The series is written by P.C. Cast and her daughter Kristin Cast. Book 5 is called Hunted and is off to a great start. The series is actually a young adult series about vampire high school, where everything and anything goes wrong. The main character Zoey, is a vampire fledgling (pre-vampire), but she is special because she was picked by the Vampire Godess to eventually take her place. She has been given special powers, different markings on her body than anyone else, and she has an interesting circle of friends. The novels include the typical boyfriend troubles and drama that all teens go through. The series is not as good as the Twilight series, but it is a must read for anyone who loves teen love-vampire stories! (I am still reading Twilight for a second time, its just on hold for now.)

Blake and I are reading The Tale of Despereaux together. I read a page and then he reads a page. Has anyone read this book? Does it get better? We are on Chapter 11 (pg. 57) and I can’t say that I am enjoying it all too much.

Merry Belated Christmas to myself. I had the Twilight series on my xmas list but everyone was sold out of the box set, which is what I wanted. I’ve already read the series once, but I read them in a hurry because I couldn’t wait to see what happens next. The 4th book I read in Myrtle Beach while laying in the sun and was interrupted a gazillion times. I can’t even remember what happens in the second book except that it’s Jacob’s story. I sold all my books on Ebay before I realized I wanted to read them again. Now I have the pretty box set. Guess what I will be doing tonight?
